Trading From Scratch

Before You Read Anything Else

Last update: 2026-04-23

A few honest words before we start. This is not legal fine print dressed up to sound friendly. I mean every line of it, and I want you to understand what you are getting into. By reading, buying, or using anything on this site, you accept these terms in full.

You must be an adult

First things first. You need to be at least 18 years old to use this site. Trading involves financial risk and binding legal contracts with exchanges. If you are underage, close the tab.

What this is, and what it is not

Everything you find in Trading From Scratch is for educational, learning, and demonstration purposes. Nothing more. I share what I have learned from years of trading crypto. The mistakes I have made, the patterns I have noticed, and the frameworks I have built to stay consistent.

This is not financial advice. It is not a signal service. It is not a promise of returns. If you read a trade idea, a setup, or a market observation, treat it as one trader's view. Not an instruction to act.

In other words, do your own research. Think for yourself. Verify what I say. If something does not make sense to you, push back on it.

Tools, scripts, and live environments

If I share any IT tools, scripts, or software solutions, they are strictly for training and demonstration. Use them at your own risk. I strongly advise against plugging any provided scripts or tools straight into a live trading environment (production) without deep, thorough testing. If you decide to use them outside of a test environment, the control, monitoring, and safe operation of those tools is 100% your responsibility.

There is no technical support, no bug fixing, no guaranteed compatibility with your systems, and I do not take on individual development contracts. You get them "as is."

Past results tell you nothing about your future

You will see charts, examples, and trades I have taken. Some worked. Some did not. What you will not see is a guarantee, because there is none.

Markets do not repeat mechanically. A setup that worked ten times in a row can fail the eleventh. Your results will depend on your discipline, your risk management, your timing, and a hundred small decisions I cannot make for you.

The risks are real

Crypto markets are volatile. Leverage amplifies both gains and losses. Liquidity disappears at the worst moments. Exchanges go down. Positions get liquidated.

You can lose everything you put in. You can lose it faster than you think. That is the truth, and any source that tells you otherwise is selling you something.

So here is my only firm rule for you: only trade with capital you can genuinely afford to lose. Not your rent money. Not your mortgage. Not your retirement savings. Not the money you borrowed. Only capital you can walk away from without it changing your life.

My own positions

I trade for my own account. That means I may hold positions in the assets I write about, and I may take the opposite side of a view I have shared. I do not always flag it, because markets change and my own thinking changes with them.

If it matters to your decision, check for yourself. Do not assume my bias lines up with yours.

Do not steal my stuff

I put a lot of effort into building the frameworks and content inside Trading From Scratch. You are granted a simple, non-transferable right to use this information for your own internal use and education.

Do not copy, scrape, or redistribute my work. Do not publish it, package it up, or resell it to third parties without my written permission. All copyrights remain mine. If you want to share a concept with someone, send them a link to the site.

About the site itself

Trading From Scratch is built and maintained as a craft project. I do my best to keep it accurate and available, but I cannot promise perfection.

The content may contain errors. Links may break. The site may go down for maintenance or for reasons I cannot predict. Software has bugs. The internet has bad days.

I am not responsible for losses, damage, or missed opportunities that come from using the site, trusting its content, or acting on anything you read here. Use your own judgement. Always.

I may mention exchanges, brokers, tools, or services. That is not an endorsement. It is context. If you choose to use a third party, that relationship is between you and them. I have no control over what they do or responsibility for how they treat you.

Also, assume that some of the tools or services I link to are affiliate links. This means if you click them and sign up, I may get a small commission. It does not cost you anything extra, but you should know the incentive is there.

Payments and refunds

If you pay for access to anything on Trading From Scratch, know what you are buying. Because you get immediate access to digital knowledge and intellectual property, all sales are final, and there are no refunds. Make sure you actually want the material before you pull out your card.

If, despite everything above, something on this site or the content provided by me causes you loss or damage, my liability is limited. The only exceptions are extreme cases, such as unlawful intent or gross negligence, which Swiss law (Art. 100 OR) rightly holds people accountable for.

Otherwise, I am not going to cover your drawdowns, your direct or indirect consequential damages, data loss, system failures, missed flights, or broken hardware. That is not how this works.

A few final housekeeping rules:

  • Any changes or additions to these terms must be in writing.
  • If a court decides one of these rules is invalid, the rest of them remain fully in effect.
  • The laws of Switzerland govern this site and anything related to it.
  • The exclusive jurisdiction for any disputes is Emmen, Luzern, Switzerland.

One final thought

I built Trading From Scratch because I wanted the resource I did not have when I started. The goal is to help you build a real craft, not to sell you a shortcut.

If you read carefully, practise relentlessly, and respect the risk, you will get more out of this than any disclaimer could possibly protect. And if you skip the work and trade on impulse, no disclaimer, mine or anyone else's, will save you from the consequences.

Trade your own account. Think your own thoughts. Protect yourself first.
